Breastmilk fuels humanity. It grows babies' bodies, fuels neurodevelopment, and safeguards against famine and disease — and yet we know more about tomatoes than human milk.

Breastmilk storage and preservation is an especially understudied topic. And what we do know is startling. 100% of thawed milk loses nutritional value. At least half of pumping parents experience difficulties feeding their baby stored milk, and 25% are unable to use frozen breastmilk entirely. And that’s all based on a single study. 

Pumpkin is here to change that. 

Pumpkin is a category-creating seed-stage startup that’s developing a baby-safe, science-backed, all-natural product that helps pumping moms preserve their precious breastmilk for baby.  

Pumpkin hired me in 2024 to bring their new brand to life. I developed the brand’s strategy, messaging, voice guidelines, and foundational brand book. I also partnered with a designer to create the first iteration of Pumpkin’s website. 

In 2025, the founders brought me on as Fractional CMO to advise on content strategy, marketing, and brand strategy in preparation for a 2026 product launch.
